Help Send Iraqi Orphans to Summer School
RootProject is partnering with Numi Foundation to raise funds for a summer school pilot program for 25 underserved, sixth-grade students in the Karkh District of Baghdad, Iraq. 1 in 6 Iraqis – over five million people – are orphans, and the number is even higher if you only look at children. Donate now and enable war victims and children who lost their parents to benefit from the program, all of which have been identified by the Iraq Foundation, the Ministry of Education, and local school authorities.

The children have fallen behind in their studies and are in danger of dropping out of school due to the trauma they’ve suffered. The summer school will provide targeted support for students to get them back on track to graduation by addressing achievement gaps, while also providing field trips to expose the children to art, history, and culture, and is designed to give these kids a chance at restoring a more regular life and integrating into their communities and contributing to a more peaceful Iraq.
Ahmed Rahim, co-founder of Numi Foundation, was born in Baghdad and still has family in Iraq. He started the Foundation ten years ago with aim of bringing art, gardening, and nature to local children. On the tenth anniversary of setting this vision and goal, Rahim is proud to be able to make it a reality through this pilot program a partnership of Numi and the Iraq Foundation.
This is why we are asking for your support for this important initiative today – please join us and donate!
